  Software & Setup

The appliance comes with the latest available release of OPNsense pre-installed. The Web management interface can be accessed using the included setup notes, making initial configuration straightforward for users familiar with firewall and router administration.

Please note that this is repurposed enterprise hardware, not a consumer plug-and-play router. Depending on your network environment, some manual configuration may be necessary. Enterprise hardware may also take longer to complete its initial hardware checks and operating system startup than a typical home router.

Console access is available through the included RJ45-to-DB9F serial console cable. A tested RJ45-to-USB-A console cable is available as an optional upgrade for an additional $10, allowing direct connection to most modern computers without a DB9 serial port or separate USB-to-serial adapter. Console access is not required for normal Web-based configuration.

  Power Supply – Important

The appliance includes a compatible 90W AC power adapter and a standard 3-prong AC power cord.

Important: The included barrel connector adapter must be installed on the power adapter's output connector before connecting it to the appliance. Please use the included adapter rather than attempting to connect the power supply directly. The compatible power supply and barrel adapter are included with the sale.
