This sale is for 1 Compaq RARE 9 track computer tape drive. This records and plays back and is in near new fully working condition. The tape heads look brand new as does the entire unit, very quiet operation, a full self diagnostic works and it auto loads a 9 trach computer tape and goes online at the end of the sequence. This looks as if it were never used. These were very expensive units at around 20,000 dollars each. It is aSCSI unit. These were made by Qualstar (the 3400 series) and are exactly the same as the DEC unit except for labeling. I will include the manual shown in the photo. I have never seen these in this condition.A neat piece of computing history.The photos are of the actual item for sale. It is for the top unit in the photos only.This item weighs aprox. 65 to 70 pounds, measures 51/2 inches tall by 19 inches wide, by 25 inches deep and is for pickup only.
