FOR SALE: Compact 2-port pfSense router / firewall on Protectli FW20001 hardware.
The device is implemented in a desktop form factor. The Protectli FW20001 is a tiny PC with a footprint of approximately 5x5 inches (slightly larger than Intel NUC). The case construction is all-metal (appears to be machined aluminum). To make the device usable right out of the box, we installed and configured pfSense, an open-source operating system for networking equipment.
The unit runs on an Intel Celeron J1800 processor with 4 GB of RAM. The sole storage device is a 32 GB SSD. The unit features two Gigabit Ethernet ports. To test the unit, we made some changes to the default pfSense configuration. A detailed configuration note will be provided to the buyer. Alternatively, the buyer could simply reset pfSense to its initial state and reconfigure the device from scratch as they see fit.
The device is passively cooled (fanless) and completely quiet.
In our estimation, this device is a good choice for a home, a home lab, or a small business.
The device is in excellent physical condition (please review the photos) and will be shipped to the buyer in its factory packaging.
A power supply unit is included.
