These battery packs are "dumb" run-time extenders for APC head-unit A maximum of 10 of these can be daisy chained into one of those head units. These extenders have no receptacles or UPS featuresof their own besides the daisy-chain ports.
You could also use them to connect to your own inverter if you're looking to build out your own battery backup solution and want something that's rack-mountable.They've never been deployed buthave been kept in storage for 8-ish years. This means the lead-acid batteries in them are no longer good, so I've removed the batteries so that shipping isn't crazy.I do test each one extender with my own head unit before shipping them out so you won't get a DOA
I'll include documentation on how to wire in new batteries if you choose to buy individual packs. All wires are already included and they just plug onto new battery packs, no soldering required.
They can hold (x20) 12VDC, 5AH small battery packs in them that are arranged in two 120VDC cartridges for a total of 10AH/120VDC per extender (yes 120VDC sounds weird but that's how they're wired).
You can also just buy replacement cartridges that are pre-wired and slide right into this run-time extender. Each extender takes 2 cartridges. The model number for those cartridges is:APCRBC143 andAPCRBC143US
Each cartridge weighs 50lbs, a single run-time extender can have two cartridges and the extender itself weighs 34lbs. Total maximum deployed weight is 134.28lbs.
