The 3Com 5642 wired router enables connection to the Internet. The 3C13755 router is ideal for businesses that require Internet access, remote access to and from branch offices and/or homeworkers for telecommuting. The 10/100 wired router features ADHCP server, firewall and VPN Pass-Thru. The LAN (local area networking) of the 3Com 10/100 router is 10/100 Base-T, 10/100/1000 Base-T with WAN (wireless area networking) of 1 x RJ-11 for DSL, ISDN and T1/E1. The 3Com 5642 wired router incorporates an NAT firewall to prevent intruder and hacker access. With CHAP, PAP (IPAP), RADIUS, TACACS+ and X.509 authentication, the 3Com 5642 wired router has VPN encryption of 3DES, AES, DES and IKE, the 10/100 wired router has VPN protocols of IPSec, IPSec Pass-Thr, L2TP and L2TP Pass-Thru. The dimensions of the 3Com 10/100 router are: height 1.7 inches (4.32 cm), width 17.3 inches (43.94 cm), depth 15.7 inches (39.88 cm). The3Com 5642 wired router weighs in at 17.6 lbs (7.98 kg). Security of the 10/100 is AES and DES.
