The Amped Wireless high power wireless-300N smart Repeater expands the range of your wifi network by repeating the signal from your wireless router or modem and redistributing it as a new network. I bought this smart repeater to extend wireless coverage to my shop, which is 100 ft from my house. I wish manufacturers would rate their equipment by distance, rather than area. The 300N is rated to cover 5,000 square feet. Sounds like a big house, but how far is that? R = (A/π)^½ = (5000/π)^½ = 40 feet Not very impressive. The good news is that it works a lot better than advertised. Mine is about 100 feet away and the signal is stronger than my century link modem that is 60 feet away. Setup was easy, sort of. You just hook it up to your computer and configure it through a built-in web page. I had trouble because I had previously disabled my LAN connection (to avoid having a Network Cable Unplugged red icon in the taskbar all the time). So when I tried to find the local web page, there was no network there to search. All I had to do was to click Start, Control Panel, Network Connections, (Local Area Connection was disabled), double click Local Area Connection. My only complaint is that the instructions did not give any hints regarding this common problem with setup. Once it is configured, you just take it to a point within range of your modem and an electrical outlet, but in the direction of the location to which you want to extend coverage, and plug it in. That’s it. Mine is wire-tied to a board in my garage and plugged into the same receptacle as my garage door opener. On your devices, you can View Wireless Networks and it will show up as Amped_Wireless or whatever you set it up as. I named my network FBI_Surveillance_Van. Enjoy.Read full review
I use these in my shed outside and in a room at my mom's house where the wifi router/modem will not reach. Allows me to get full bars when connecting to wifi. Comes with mounting cradle and 2 screw-in antennas. Has a CD but you don't need it. The instructions are very easy to understand. My neighbor has one to use our WIFI so it works out great!

Works great. Covers all the weak spots that I had in the house. It has good gain and is easy to set up if you have any idea how WiFi works. If you will read the directions, it will walk you through most common setups. It is not a router, just a good repeater. My only regret is this unit is a single channel unit, I knew that going in, but would probably buy a dual channel if the price was right. For what it is, it is a great unit.
Replaced my dead SR10000 model with this one. Easy to setup and connect to my cellular hotspot. Coverage within my home is great and have had no connection issues.

Pretty strong unit. simple to set up (usually) For these units I've paid as low as $45 and upwards of $100, making them a bit pricey; however to the right person it is worth the investment. Many others promise equivalent performance to this repeater at a lower price yet I have yet to see any other actually meet their claims as well as this unit. If you can get this below $75 your doing good and have a very decent repeater.
