its constantly picking up devices to integrate to its system and creating havoc wish i could see clearly which connection is my 8 year olds, but it inst evident as her connection isn't static, the ip changes and the mac address is not descriptive final straw was it blocking her zoom sessions with her tutors i have patience, but this requires more patience then i have its gone now, the device, i broke it in frustration i love the idea, but it isn't an easy fix using the circle device

If you are looking for a device to replace you as a parent, then you will NEVER find what you are looking for, not even this incredible tool. However, if you are seeking something to help you teach your child to navigate this crazy electronic age we live in, then the Disney Circle is awesome! We have decided NOT to have unlimited data on our cell service, so our 13 year-olds are required to use WiFi a majority of the time. The circle allows us to set limits on time and content, requiring our kids to have conversations with us when they want to have more time online or to discuss why some site is blocked. LOVE this! It allows us to filter the content WE see as well, since I also want to protect myself from garbage that tends to seep into even innocent searches. As an aside, it has worked to protect us from hackers... the default setting for the primary “profile” is to not have filters or time limits, but we actually have it set to PAUSE. As soon as an unwanted party attempts to join our WiFi (which happened about a year ago before we figured out how to prevent this with the circle, and they attempted to access all our bank info), they are locked and cannot do anything on our WiFi. I am notified that a device has added to the network and I can then move them to an appropriate profile. I have simply set up another profile that I can move guests or random devices (like the Apple TV) into such that there are no limits on them. Seriously, I cannot say enough positive things about this little thing. I regret that they “upgraded” it and this model is discontinued. I really do not want to pay a monthly fee for the features that were free in the first generation. Why ruin a good thing?! Oh, right... $$$ in their pockets. I recommend Gen 1 Disney Circle, and suggest you buy them now before they are completely obsolete. Read full review

I have followed every instruction to the letter, read the website, and consulted online forums. The device simply will not connect. I'm calling in expert help this weekend. If we get it working, I'll revise my review, but so far I would definitely *not* agree with those who say the set up is easy.

It needs to come with actual instructions for setup and for making changes as you go along. I tried to give a later bedtime and it did not work to allow access after the cutoff and I had/have no idea why. Also, initially it detected every device and my work PC was shut off from the Internet. Finally, there is free wifi from our cable provider that sometimes works, so cutting off the house wifi is only partially effective.
