The 8-port desktop switch lets you network up to eight devices at speeds up to 200Mbps at full-duplex capability and is compacted enough to be placed virtually anywhere in your home or office.The DES-1008E uses auto-sensing 10/100 Mbps ports, allowing a small workgroup to flexibly connect to Ethernet and Fast Ethernet devices to create an integrated network. A Switch Is A Switch Is A Switch - D-Link DES-1008E - Good Switch
Nothing wrong with this one.. It may be a bit old school and big, but it still has a place in your network... I like that I can mount it on a wall, which then allows the cables to hang from the bottom, and gives me a clear visual to the status LED. I've installed a number of these in an industrial environment, and the 8 Ports are a benefit over smaller switches. In that setting they have not caused me any problems. I recommend these 9 port switches and will buy more as I need them.Nothing wrong with this one.. It may be a bit old school and big, but it still has a place in your network... Need a hub? Forget it. By a switch. Cheap and functional.
I needed a hub or a switch so I could connect laptops and other devices to my home network conveniently. Switches are so cheap it does not make sense to use hubs. I didn't need security or to configure VLANs, just a simple switch. I didn't get into the features of this switch because I didn't need features. I bought on price and seller rep. It works fine; just plug it in. It is small, inexpensive and it works fine.I needed a hub or a switch so I could connect laptops and other devices to my home network conveniently. Switches are so cheap it does not make sense to use hubs. I didn't need security or to configure VLANs, just a simple switch. This is my second unit.. I like them... Never given me a problem... It just works... My 1st unit was hit by lightning along with a lot of other stuff.. I think It's an excellent product.
