While this is a fully featured phone and works well (when it works) in our small office, we have had reliablity issues with it and the cordless handsets. Several of the handsets go on the fritz and have to be reset. We have had transmission problems that are related to batteries. Panosonic has not always been very cooperative in resolving the issues. We own two bases which cannot be used together, if that tells you anything. In order to buy additional phones, you must spend upwards of $250-$350 per phone!! They told me months ago that they were no longer manufacturing the phone. Are you ready for this?? Because they had so many problems with it.
System is easy to set up and has great features! The only fault I have with this system is the base nor handset have a mute button to use while on conference calls. A muting headset must be used which is awkward at times. The voicemail system is easy to set up and works well with a fax machine on the same line. This system allows me to answer all lines and intercom between rooms and has a great sound to the caller while on the speaker phone.
I bought this system with three desk sets (420's) and three handsets (400's) three years ago for my insurance office. It has worked perfectly and the convenience of being able to use the different units unplugged for conference calls has been a super feature. I am beginning to purchase spare units to use if maintenance problems do come up, but, so far, everything has worked perfectly. I couldn't be more satisfied with a phone system for (4) lines and (7) sets. Wish I had the need to use the full capability, but I don't need that much help yet (o: And it is no stretch to carry a handset while walking to the mailbox 100 yards away - signal carries without a flaw. You could probably go out and enjoy a cigarette with a unit like this ...
This is being used in a small medical office. The system is relatively easy to use, after some orientation. We have not used the automated attendant, but plan to once we reach a point where we are busy enough to justify not answering the calls personally. Very good quality. The handsets are unreasonably expensive, however. I have been buying them on ebay, because new they are $100-200. That's really the only bad thing I have to say about the system.
I have used this system for my small business for some years. The challenge is the sticky 1 digit on the handsets, but ebay provides a replacement that corrects the issue. No wiring is needed, and handsets are easily added to the system when additional staff are introduced. Great reception, multiple lines and no cords make it simple and convenient for any business to stay on top of the phone issues. I replaced my system because eventually, the handsets just plain wore out.
