I'm fairly new to computers. My first one was bought 4-2-09 and worked well until it died from a virus this May.I bought a HP Pavillion Slimline to re-place it which is too much machine for my needs but a wonderful computer.A friend of mine stripped and re-programed my original E-machine which I have hooked to a large flat screen TV for watching old movies and such. They also gave me a LINKSYS SR41 router but it,s either broken or not compatible with Windows and XP.From reviews the LINKSYS is a wonderful product so probably my unit at fault. I bought the Belkin(F5D7231-4) router because someone asked the seller about the set-up disc and the answer was there isn't one, just plug it in.Also this model is wireless or can use the cables I had alreadt installed. This leaves lots of room to add another unit or move one of our two present units. This is an efficient product that does it's job well. It's very low profile and has 8 lights on front that flash and change color if you're into technical looking things.Read full review
Easy, simple to use, flexible and comprehensive security options available. Relatively simple and basic, not very sturdy and not a whole lot to it. Simple design and functionality. Good for mobile computing and deploying a portable wireless network on the go.
When converted to a DD-WRT router, it is considered to be a very valuable device.

I knew nothing about routers, and was hesitant to spend a lot of money on something that may not suit my needs. I purchased this one hoping it would work with the WII system, to watch movies. Not only did it do the job, I moved the WII down the hall and it still worked! Oh, and BTW, I live in the woods and can't even get cell phone reception.
Nice little unit. Easy install. I bought it for a friend. It would be better if security settings were easier to find. In their defense I set it up pretty quick and may have missed something, I had to leave. I like my Zyxel better.
