This is my third purchase of a CyberPower CP850PFCLCD to protect my computers with active PFC power supplies. Based on my research it is the best value available if you need an active PFC UPS. The first CyberPower CP850PFCLCD I purchased is over three and a half years old and still going strong on its original batteries (fingers crossed). The second is two and a half years old and running problem free as well. Hopefully, this latest purchase will prove to be just as reliable. The batteries are user replaceable. I plan to replace mine when the original batteries no longer hold a charge. The LCD display provides an quick and easy way to check the battery status and load. It is a very nice feature. To manage the automatic shutdown of your computer in the event of an ongoing power failure you can install the free CyberPower Personal PowerPanel software. That software is compatible with Windows 10 32/64, Windows 8 32/64, Windows 7 32/64, Vista 32/64, XP 32/64, 2000, 2003, Server 2008 and Server 2012 as of October 2015. It is easily installed and configured and it can be set to periodically test the UPS on a schedule you determine. I have never tried to make a claim based on damage to equipment that was protected by a CP850PFCLCD. All in all I have been very happy with the CyberPower CP850PFCLCD.Read full review

We now have two of these CyberPower UPS units. One is on our home wireless network stuff, the other is for our TV, CD entertainment center. We use laptop computers, phones and tablets so there is no need to have backup for those. If we need to charge something during an extended outage we can plug into one of the outlets on generator power. The main reason for the UPS units is so the network and TV continue to function without interruption. Our power only rarely goes out for more than a few seconds. The CyberPower UPS units are much better to live with than anything else we have used. The small APC units we had would screech continuously during an outage, even after the generator was running. The APC units had a "feature" that would run a self-test that would drop the load around the same time every day. This was not a feature we appreciated. The CyberPower UPS units have a SILENCE option! This option allows the UPS to do what it does during an outage without making any noise. We can continue to watch TV or surf the web without being bothered by UPS units screeching. We already know the power is off, there is no need to screech. We don't have a lot of load on either UPS so run time is way more than needed to decide if the outage is going to be long enough to go get the generator running. The CyberPower UPS units are much more tolerant of voltage dips such as when the well pump or refrigerator starts on generator. Our TV signal comes from DirecTV satellite boxes. We had to replace the satellite box upstairs several times. It would run very hot and eventually quit working. The satellite box downstairs lasted several years. The only difference was the upstairs one was running on the output of a UPS. I suspected the power supply in the Satellite boxes did not like the wave form it was getting from the APC UPS. We bought this model CyberPower UPS thinking the true sine waye output might solve the problem. It has been more than two years since we bought the first CyberPower UPS and we have not had another Satellite box failure. The satellite box runs so much cooler we no longer put fans on the shelf with it.Read full review

Nice UPS for my tankless water heater! It's smaller than the standard CPU box. If there is no electricity, we won't be able to use hot water. This UPB is essential to keep the heater running up to about 2 hours when there is a power outage.

I have three of them protecting CNC machines. No problems.

For a Pure Sine Wave product, it is a good value as it provides ~520W. This is perfect for my Low Power computer that draws around 25W and provides around 1 hour if power fails.
