The HP ProCurve 2810-24G is designed to fit into standard server racks and includes mounting brackets to make physically securing the unit simple. The 24 front-mounted Ethernet ports accept standard RJ-45 cabling, and a serial console port is also provided for setup and customization of the unit. The 2810 has a 16 MB flash memory and a 64 MB SDRAM for its operating system and settings storage.An enterprise level switch that works equally well in a busy home office or business environment, the HP ProCurve 2810-24G provides a complete solution for Layer 2 switching needs. Hewlett-Packard's switching software is used by organizations in the networking industry, and its command line interface allows for deep customization in a range of internetworking environments. A simple Java graphical interface is also available for new users not familiar with HP's command line software. Many industry standard networking tools are included on the unit's software, including per-interface VLAN configuration and QoS. Multiple remote management protocols can be used to remotely configure and view the switch, including SNMP, Telnet, TFTP, RMON, SSH, and HTTP. Access to the unit can be secured with an encrypted password configuration and other industry standard security measures to protect important documents.All switch ports located on the unit are rated at up to a gigabit data transfer for lightning-quick speeds even in data-hungry environments. Each port can be customized to use any of the three IEEE standard transfer rates included on the unit to maximize bandwidth where it is needed most. Excellent value.
The switch itself is fine, but the cooling fans are a little noisy, but then is an Enterprise level product. I just need of find a location that mitigates the fan noise.

Procurve not what it should do.
Switch did power up upon arrival, however it kept faulting every time a line was plugged in. That required a total reboot of the switch to reset, not acceptable. Trouble shooting the switch revealed bad capacitors on the logic board. Currently on order, I expect that will fix the problem. After using this product I am not a fan of HP's switch management software, but for the used price and what I need it for it will work for now.
